Maybe not BTC lol. But other crypto? Yeah probably for a while. Until Google's Quantum Supremacy(youtu.be) breaks all crypto and we start needing quantum cryptography to make them viable again.
So we have 4096 bit RSA right now. That, in my mind, is essentially worthless against a State-level attacker like Google. That goes the same for crypto and mining of crypto. Give it 5-10 years when we start having more widespread quantum computing or open-source variants of it. Then you can have 4096 q bit RSA and and quantum currency. I expect that in the next few years, crypto may have significant breaking due to state-level actors mining and manipulating it with these newer types of computers.
My guess is bitcoin will be the first but eventually will slow down in favor of other technologies that take it even further quantum computing would for sure be one. I however thing eventually its got to get smaller for it too be adopted on a wide scale either that or bandwidth would have to get a lot faster so gigabyte size block chains can be moved in seconds.
