If you were standing "in the way" of the Moon's orbit, you would be struck at a speed of over 2,200 mph (about 1 km/s). The Moon has a diameter of roughly 2,160 miles (3,476 km), this would be an instantaneous, catastrophic impact, resulting in immediate death.

Why not? Say you had a space suit with a plentiful supply of Oxygen and Bread, and 'ol Elon ran you up there and put you in geosynchronous orbit around the Earth IN the path of the moons orbit. You would be still, the moon is coming at you,,,, You're dead.
