Carlos Hernandez, 13, and his older brother Christopher Benitez, 24, died after an explosion in their Bell Gardens home on Tuesday evening. The blast was reported around 6pm in the 6500 block of Purdy Avenue, per the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Hernandez was found dead inside the apartment where the explosion happened. Benitez, his older brother, was rushed to the hospital.
