May have watched a documentary on this place once. How does one sell sweat though
I spent a night in Slab City around 2009. Too many flies from people half-burying their human waste in the sand. A film crew was there to film Leonard, who built the fantastical Salvation Mountain. Leonard sadly died not long after. Leonard Knight (youtube.com)
>“When I came out here in the ‘90s,” he says “it was like old-time hippies. Peace… love… flower children. You know, everybody was so kind to each other.” But in recent years, he says, meth addicts have caused endless problems. “You see people walking around and talking to themselves,” he says. “And they don’t seem to get along with their imaginary friends because they are yelling and screaming at them.” [...] Most of the money that comes into the community is brought in by the numerous artists living on the site, who sell their work to curious visitors that have driven out from San Diego or Los Angeles. Some of the art is too big to sell though. A vast installation called Salvation Mountain, created by local Leonard Knight was described by California Senator Barbara Boxer as "a unique and visionary sculpture... a national treasure.”
Part and parcel with living in a diverse society, which is clearly the source of the Aryan man’s strength
