I thought that too but no ... your days of heavy sleeping are over once you have a baby. We co slept with both of our kids because we both work and have to sleep.
SIDS is a weird disease. No one wants to talk about it but a large % they think is like extreme negligence... like to the point where you in actuality killed your kid either consciously or subconsciously. Another large % is just very bad luck. It’s really sad. And no one is adult enough to talk about it in a way that actually makes an impact.
My wife worked in the neo natal and infant wards at a hospital for a long time. I brought up SIDS often being murder committed by the mother who just lost her shit. It took a little prying, but the wife admitted that was true.
I always said that SIDS was just another excuse for a woman killing her kid. They always give it cute names and "diagnose" it instead of calling it for what it is.
If you're acting like a complete nut job, oh that's just postpartum depression. Lose your shit and jerk the shit out of your newborn? Shaken baby syndrome. Etc.
Thats exactly what it is man. I just cant look at women who lost a child to that the same anymore.
That's nuts. Especially since neo natal makes a point to have so many shaken-baby pamphlets. A lot of "if you're mad just put the kid down and walk away" type stuff.
I had read a 4chan thing about SIDS deaths actually being intentional infanticide, but seeing all that made me think it must be two separate things.
SIDS and Shaken baby syndrome are made up to cover up vaccine death.
