There are many cultures that co-sleep. Almost all (see: all) deaths are from parents getting high/drunk and falling asleep on the kid.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with sleeping with your infant. People have done it for centuries with no issue.

Our kid hated the bassinet. My wife would co-sleep and I was super against it because of what I’ve heard. She convinced me it was okay but I still slept 3 feet from them and was still as fuck for those 3 months he was in there.

The reasons for not co sleeping are many but the blankets and pillows kill your infants narrative is bullshit....spoiler alert it is vaccines...babies used to sleep in thick animal furs in a cold and smoky room and not kick off for no reason

My toddler has slept next to me for 2 years and amazingly, is still alive because I know how to set up a bed to be safe for co sleeping.
