The music includes monster sounds, which adds to the scariness.

I leave the sound effects on. I think it's creepier with just the random groans and bullet sounds in the background.

But I can't play a game without a 30 minute tutorial, with an endless amount of popups explaining the most basic things, such as movement and mouse look.

How do you expect me to be able to play anything without treating me like a 70-IQ nigger?

I think I've just played on Hurt Me Plenty for so long that the extra difficulty is a welcome change now. Playing without saves really gives every level a new life.

I don't know how anyone could enjoy Nightmare under any circumstances. Respawns are bullshit.
