Sounds about right, had a Malinois, gave the puppy puzzles to she'd look to us if she was having a tough time figuring them out. Our current dog a Kangle, just would destroy the puzzle instead. The Malinois was easy to train to be protective and relaxed, The Kangle is automatically protective, but we can not get her to relax.
