Vet thinks he had a stroke and basically lost control of his body several days ago. We were hoping for a recovery but it never came. Today we knew. I am a firm believer that dogs are reincarnated. I have owned too many to not see the same mannerisms and traits repeated that were in prior dogs I owned.

See ya soon...

It would be a much better world if they lived twice as long as they do. I've lost 4 in my lifetime. Like losing a member of the family every time. Sorry for your loss.

I wish I could but I can't for the usual reasons.

well, Im not sure what you think the usual reasons are, but I started to look for old poloroids but havent found them yet. Im gonna eventually make a sticky for lost friends.

Sorry to hear that. I lost one a couple years back. They really are members of the family and you can't help but love something you care for.

Reincarnation, collective consciousness, blood memory, God, gods, dog - whatever it is, it's quite awesome.

I first read this in a hunting newsletter back in the 80"s.

It expresses my condolences far more eloquently than can I.

A Dog’s Plea

Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should should lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world’s sweetest much, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

Please take me inside when it is cold and wet, for I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to bitter elements. I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.

Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.

And, my friend, when I am very old, and I no longer enjoy good health, hearing and sight, do not make heroic effort efforts to keep me going. I am not having any fun.

Please see that my trusting life is taken gently. I shall leave this earth knowing with the last breath I draw that my fate was always safest in your hands.

What was his name? How old was he? Breed? And I’m very sorry. I’ve got one that could go anytime now. She’s a 14 year old mutt named Ditzy. Labored breathing, lots of sleeping, but still eats, does her business outside, and loves a good ear scratch.

He was a good Boy.
