We use Diamond as well. It takes him about two days to eat a full bowl. For some reason he likes it as a midnight snack. He gets 1 raw egg in the morning and plain homemade homegrown beef jerky throughout the day. Jerky can be stored for a long time, and the only ingredient is beef, no salt or glycerine added. On the weekends he gets two over easy eggs in the morning. He's old and spoiled.

Diamond pet was busted for melamine in their products that killed a bunch of cats and dogs several years back. I tried a bag of that stuff on my pets and every single one had a stomach bleed. Never bought processed pet food again.

never had a problem, are you sure it was diamond?

[–] 1 pt

Yep.

[–] 1 pt

It was only a couple types, mostly lamb, of their canned foods.

Tell that to the people that had pets that died from that shit.

What does that have to do with anything? Facts are facts. Not my problem if they hurt feelings. Who the fuck feeds their dog canned food anyway? No canned food by any brand is good for animals. Bad pet owners!

I do not have a dog, but I think I want to get a cat. Not sure if I should get one from the shelter, or steal one from the old sober house I used to live at.

Adult cats at shelters are always the best. Most of them there because their owner died. Get two.

What breed dog do you have? I've got a rescue Shepsky. She looks like a husky, but has the large GSD body size.

[–] 0 pt

pit mix I think, one half blue eye. It was a show up dog so a rescue I guess.

Chicken is the first (and second) ingredient yes, and that's good, but right after the chicken you get Rice, Barley, another kind of rice, more rice, and then more grain.

Doesn't seem so good.

I feed my dog 4Health Performance Formula:

Chicken, chicken meal, pork, brown rice, white rice, chicken fat Followed by all the other crap that's in your ingredient list.

what grain?

[–] 1 pt

>Chicken, chicken meal, whole grain brown rice, cracked pearled barley, ground white rice, rice bran, grain sorghum

Nothing wrong with rice or barley for dogs, its corn and wheat you want to stay away from.
