in general just staring at them works. My personal favorite is to start slow walking towards them with big eyes while slowly turning the walk into a crouch. It's only a matter of time before they cant take it anymore and get the zoomies

Mine don't mind that at all. As long as there's food in the bowl, they're happy. They eat with their tails wagging.
