It is true. Vet bills are extraordinarily high. I know friends and family that spend thousands of dollars on their pets. This actually prevents me from getting pets at this point because the cost is just too high. Sure, some pets never have a problem, but there is a big risk that they will. I foresee a problem of people abandoning their pets as soon as they cannot afford them.
