I have a poodle dachshund mix, she is a great dog. She was 2 when we got her. pad trained. We put pads on the patio, she never has an accident in the house. She will use the pad when it is raining, the yard when it is not. I groom her. She only issue is she gets anxious anytime someone uses the front door. I believe her previous owners left her alone during the day. We never do. We acquired her as a companion to my mutt who was a poodle terrier mix. He passed a year an a half ago. I miss him every day. He was my constant companion, smarter than any other dog we have owned. He enjoyed watching wheel of fortune. He would howl when they hit the bankrupt, initially because of the slide whistle sound, but I have video of him watching and howling when a contestant hits the bankrupt before they play the sound effect. I would drive him around the neighborhood so that he could do bark bys on all the neighborhood dogs. He knew our property line and would walk it and mark the line. He had a 40 or 50 word vocabulary that he understood. He liked to lay on my desk and watch videos. especially music. I surmise he was brighter than 65% of Poal users.
