I know what you mean. I had a dog that was very protective of me as a child, and our bond was unlike any other. Dogs really are too good for this world.

Absolutely! My two dogs are very protective of our family and the property. They more than earn their keep and in return they are treated as a family member.

They "are" a family member.

I agree, although where I live in the country, most farm dogs are outdoor dogs year round, they sleep in a dog house or barn, mine sleep indoor on carpet and eat dinner in the same room as we do. :)

Yeah. They definitely know the difference between grown humans and children humans which is neat.

You can tell they're truly pack animals. They know they're nothing without their families.
