Just thought this was cool. Story is from almost 4 years ago, though. I wonder how many people have been lucky enough to have dogs like this?

Break neck

Dog lies on top of you in the middle of winter for 24 hours straight until it managed to call for help.

Break neck

Cat eats your face while youre still alive, and proceeds to eat you for the next week until it dies of dehydration.

Had to put my best friend down last week because of a rapid onset autoimmune disease that attacked her blood. Hardest thing I've ever done, will always miss her and will never forget her.

Don’t vaccinate your pets. It’s as bad for them as it is for you.

Believe it or not the doc was saying vaccinations may sometimes cause reactions like this. She was diagnosed on Tuesday, got 3 transfusions by Thursday, and had to be put down by Friday.

She was happy to see us until the very end. I made sure the wife and I were there for her when she passed.

Sorry for you loss friend. It’s a damn shame they don’t tell you that beforehand isn’t it.

They’re just like family, man; I totally get where you’re coming from. Sorry for your loss.

Thanks brother. I appreciate it.

I feel for you. The advice below is quite accurate about vaxxs.

When I was a kid a strange man walked into the house. I ran upstairs and hid under a bed. My dog, instead of barking like she usually did, came upstairs and stayed quiet while she guarded me.

It ended up being my father's co-worker looking for him, and he mistakenly told him he'd be home when he wasn't.

Another time my sister got out of the house as a toddler and wandered into town. Our dog followed her and kept circling and growling refusing to let anyone close to her. The church they were near had to end up calling to ask someone to come get her. Lol.

Dogs actually make really good babysitters if you have neglectful parents.

I know what you mean. I had a dog that was very protective of me as a child, and our bond was unlike any other. Dogs really are too good for this world.

[–] [deleted] 3 pts (edited )

Absolutely! My two dogs are very protective of our family and the property. They more than earn their keep and in return they are treated as a family member.

[–] 1 pt

They "are" a family member.

[–] 2 pts

Yeah. They definitely know the difference between grown humans and children humans which is neat.

You can tell they're truly pack animals. They know they're nothing without their families.

What's the best caring dog like that that can also protect? One that can protect you but also pull you out of a river?

[–] 3 pts

Many sorts of dogs actually. It all depends on the training. German Sheppards, Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, American Boxers, and so on. Do note though, you will need to keep the dog active.

And also happy, you don't want your dog to hate you after all, by the way, what about huskies? I believe they are pretty good companions as well.

[–] 1 pt

and so on

Just about any large-breed dog can be trained. Huskies are highly intelligent, which means you need to keep them busy, well trained, and entertained. A bored dog will get into trouble. They will use that intelligence to get into trouble. And they are vocal animals, which is fun but it's something you should be aware of when training them. And the shedding, dear lord the shedding.

My vote for a good dog that is 100% loyal and protective is either a German Shepherd or a Labrador.

This little girl (youtube.com) is the safest girl in the world.

From the comments:

"That's a herd of German shepherds, that makes this little girl a German shepherd shepherd; & if she were German, she would be a German German shepherd shepherd."

Most kind of Shepard dogs are decent for that, but I’m no expert. There’s a reason cops use German Shepards.

[–] 0 pt

It's because all cops secretly want to be German nazis

If the dog was locked out with the man it is in the dog's interest to cuddle with the warmest thing around.

I know a guy who got all fucked up on liquor and pills then passed out in the snow. He had to get all but two of his fingers amputated because of frost bite.

Smithers, bring me that dog!

[–] 1 pt

That dog would be on a steak diet from there on out.

Great job. You posted a picture from Memes.com... Is that what this site is about? Retarted generic memes about dogs? Voat was 1000 times better than this shit site will ever be.
