Does anyone have any good, preferably organic or natural, flea and tick solutions for dogs?

Does anyone have any good, preferably organic or natural, flea and tick solutions for dogs?

(post is archived)

I've never had anything work as well as flea/tick/worm pills. My dogs use Trifexis. Probably not "organic", but none of my animals ever have flea problems.

Old school Advantage (the new shit burned a hole in my cat's neck like full thickness chemical burn) works. Food grade diatomaceous earth rubbed into the coat works by drying out the bugs- messy but people use it... Avoid essential oils because they can kill a pet in a hot minute and stay the fuck away from hartz mountain and store brand flea treatments They are deadly.

I’m told by a former veterinary worker that washing a dog in Dawn will remove any fleas on him.

yeah dawn kills bugs because it has formaldehyde as a component. Any soap will kills fleas if left on long enough to suffocate the bugs.

Unfortunately, won't keep them off. I deal with an immune-compromised dog, so have used it 2-3 years now.

We used Brewer's Yeast and garlic cloves. They never had fleas and they only occasionally had a tick or two compared to without.

Currently trying Cedarcide products, approved by my holistic vet. They use 3% cedar cedarwood oil. So far, so good, but it's early yet. We usually don't have issues until late in the summer.

Doggy cannot have chemical treatments anything.

And yes, caused by a vaccine.

Diatomaceous earth and boric acid 50/50 blend dust your yard.

Mix catnip, lavender, lemongrass, calendula, citronella, and peppermint essential oils (about 10 drops each) in a water spray bottle and mist the dogs lightly.
