The designer of these retro logos clearly did not live through the 80s. They come off as gaudily colored versions of the contemporary logos. That's not the 80s design aesthetic at all. Sure there were some 80s logo designs that were bad like these, but they were not representative of the typical style. Some of the most beloved and iconic logos, especially from tech companies, were born in the 80s and still look amazing. This guy got it all wrong but that's what designers usually do when they try to re-imagine something that's already great.

Memories of the 80's are great. I've gone back to look at some 80's stuff and it is kind of cringe. But I still think I was lucky to grow up in the 70's and 80's.
