Side note: the term "cognative dissonance" is a plagerism of George Orwell's "double think". In his famous work, Nineteen Eighty-Four, Orwell depicts "double think" in explicit detail. The founding paper which first describes "cognative dissonance" was published several years after Nineteen Eighty-Four.
