And these old bitches and catholic yentas are trying to already separate my father from his money. They're all trying to pair him up with these widowed country club women. Poor guy hasn't even had time to grieve yet. I told him to watch his back, watch his wallet these bitches are vipers and they're not out for his best interest.

I know, I know. I don't want him to feel abandoned and I don't want him to lose purpose which he doesn't have at the moment. My brother is a tricky and somewhat downright cruel guy when it comes to letting my dad see the grandkids. But he sure is open armed when my father helps him out monetarily. That's a whole other can of bullshit. I want my father to find love again if it's in the deck of cards. It's not healthy for him to be alone and I know he's going to make the typical mistakes like everybody does. I just think he needs more time but maybe he doesn't. What I don't think he needs to be pressured by frenemies. Those aren't friends the ones that pressure you into doing something for their benefit for their house.

Does he have a hobby you can encourage? Fishing? Cars? Painting?

He likes to play golf. He tries to play tennis but he's too old to play it well anymore. He rides his bike but that's kind of boring around here. He belongs to a flying club, he's a retired pilot. He doesn't fly anymore either because he wouldn't pass the physical I guess. He goes to lectures and goes to happy hour on Friday's. He likes going to movies matter of fact he tried to drag me to The Chosen but I slept through the first one he took me to.

Sounds like a lot of avenues to help take his mind off the dark places. I know it's difficult to be thrust into the role, but try to encourage and participate with him where you can.

AS a side note, if he's a former pilot, maybe he would like a good Flight Sim?
