That state is ridiculously mismanaged to the point where it has to be nefarious and not just incompetence. California dumped ridiculous amounts of fresh water into the ocean this year. They should have built water capture systems during the drought in 2021-2022. Dig some new lakes, dumbasses. You need more water reservoirs.

Weren't they draining it and draining it? If there's a drought that's the last thing you want to do, unless you want to be able to scream climate change when no one noticed you dumping the water.

Lake Mead provides water to the states of Arizona, California, and Nevada as well as some of Mexico, providing sustenance to nearly 20 million people and large areas of farmland. If the reservoir dips below 895 feet — Lake Mead would reach dead pool, carrying enormous consequences for millions of people across Arizona, California, Nevada and parts of Mexico. Experts from the Bureau of Reclamation say Lake Mead stands at a tier 1 shortage, and have predicted that Lake Mead will reach a tier 2 level by 2023 and a tier 3 level possibly in 2024.
