Reposted due to title typo.

To learn the differences between interframe and intraframe video, watch this CaptainDisillusion video (youtube.com).

Cameras preferably use interframe video, as it reduces file sizes at the same video quality/framerate/resolution, because it saves on redundancy between frames. But one corrupted MicroSD card from guess which shitty brand contained intraframe video from some older compact cameras.

Because it was intraframe video, only individual frames got corrupted, rather than entire groups of pictures, per each damage.
