This news story explains what happened to The Daily Stormer. It was indeed the result of the Buffalo shooter mentioning the website.

Despite his support for Russia and China, they would have him jailed if they had it their way.

Something else that comes to mind is that DS specifically calls against such actions, so dropping the domain for such a reason is at least hypocritical.

At least on my comp I have to open a new Tor window in Brave and it always comes up.

All who regularly read The Daily Stormer should get Tor, since this problem does occur periodically. Unfortunately.
