isnt entrapment when you convince someone to do something they would not normally do and they arrest them for it for your own gain? like what the FBI did with the governor? this sounds like he just got caught no entrapment involved
Idk. Not a lawyer. Your definition sounds oddly specific. I would think whether it's something the criminal would or would not normally do or whether the law enforcement agency somehow gains from it are irrelevant. Also worth noting this anti-pedo group isn't a law enforcement agency.
Even so, I would think if it was a law enforcement agency doing something like this it would be called a sting, rather than entrapment. The man was clearly looking for boys online.
With the whole governor thing the feds probably were the ones drawing the autistics into illegal plotting..
