They did indeed. Many such cases over time can be cited. If there were some standard of journalism that had repercussions, and their job was factual information, society would be very different. .

If the msm was held to the same standard as an average US peasant this would be equivalent to yelling fire in a crowded theater and their “free speech” would result in jail time and penalties.
Just think of all the hysteria and deaths they’ve caused over the decades.
