I remember at the time when they told us 40,000 people might be in each building that it was a big deal.
Then quickly they realized it was only a few thousand and so I thought. "well that's good. Then it won't be a big deal. That many die everyday anyway. Sad to lose the landmarks though."
Then it just became this huge excuse to do anything.
I still think it wasn't that big a deal. That it was a relatively minor event that mostly affected buildings and the skyline.
