Didnt know the event actually had a name, ofc I know the story.
Always struck me as odd, the kids book I learned it from originally, made it sound as if God was appalled and shocked, and almost didnt stop him in time. Always thought that was weird thing for God to do. Nevermind the initial situation also being very odd. I suspect dehydration and habitual hashish use played a role.
