The entire theory that “once things get bad enough, people will rise up” was always stupid, and always designed to make moronic right-wingers think that losing is good. But at this point, it has been disproved right in front of all of us. People are tolerating literally anything.

Rising up is risky. Historically speaking people usually only do it when there's not enough food.

I tagged you though because you advocated not voting, which presumably would allow Biden-Harris to win if enough right wing internet people listened to you. It seemed like you were advocating that "If things get bad enough" line of thought, but maybe you had some other reasons?

My reasoning behind that is that it is a pacifying action that feels like you're doing something, but you actually aren't.

Because of this negative effect, the time spent voting and the tacit approval of the system a vote represents; the theoretical small positive of pushing the needle microscopically to the right is easily outweighed.

Obviously this is based on my opinion that Trump is just another puppet and that the system cannot be reformed from the inside.

We need to build parallel communities which will give immediate results.

Well there does seem to be a slight increase in interest for Helicoptarianism/militias/prepping whenever Trump/republicans fails. If things get bad we can hire and interest people more easily as well.

However, I don't think the people would rise up and fix America; in Venezuela you just see them demanding a new different socialist. In Russia Putin took over.

In a complete vacuum probably not, usually they get help or are used. But maybe the French revolution?

"Not voting" is not a long term strategy. Say that 50% don't vote. 30% of the rest vote the first party. That's actually 15%, but the "winner" will claim that he got 30% and "let's hail democracy". He will still have control of the state and so on.

Caesar didn't vote. The Muslims in Sweden don't let their women vote. Doing other things can absolutely work.
