It does sort of read like a paid advert. I already use brave though just because im not savy enough to get something better.

I doubt he's getting paid (either by Brave or anyone else) to endorse Brave, so the conclusion I draw is he probably believes what he is saying.

Fuck this.

Brave is NOT A SECURE BROWSER. They're grifting off peoples desire for a super simple privacy browser. It is not.

DS is controlled opposition, don't take their advice when they explicitly command you to do something.

What makes you so certain DS is controlled op?

The most damning thing I can think of is that the guy who runs the site, Weev, is probably a Jew. That is concerning, for sure.

On the not controlled op side of things, I'd site the fact that they're banned from everywhere and blackballed by everything in a manner similar to Poal. Additionally, the information they provide seems useful. They regularly advise their readers to avoid getting mixed up with Feds or bringing weapons to protests. An aim of theirs seems to be pointing out other controlled ops and diversion tactics targeting conservatives.

Either way, it can't be proven or disproven, so I always reserve some caution. But on the whole they seem to be providing a good service and good information. That would make it a terrible controlled op if it were one, wouldn't it?

Tech isn't anglin's turf, and tech is vast, you can be very knowledgeable in one domain, and completely clueless when it comes to the next, like java, c++, and whatever language have no secret for you, you're totally at ease with those, and at the same time you know nothing about css for instance or javascript, or even computer security in general. There are a lot of guys very knowledgeable for everything server side for instance, and borderline noobs when it comes to client side stuffs, UI design, etc, even image resizing, that's something they can barely handle, because that's not their turf, like not at all, because they almost never NEED to have to deal with those things

So recommending brave could very well be an "honest mistake"

That being said, I don't believe brave is a BAD browser, but what do I know? I don't use it so I can't really tell, I had it at one point and went back to chromium (yeah I know it's made by satan) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brave_(web_browser)

All browsers have their downsides, some are top secure, but slow/not super responsive, some are top secure and super fast, but it's maintained by satan and the shitlib army, some are top secure and fast and lightweight, but you can only display text, no css no javascript.... And for some, you just can't be sure of anything, because they aren't open source, so it requires faith...

So, it's lesser of two evil, so at the end of the day, it's still evil

I'm not up to speed on these things, browser-wise. Where can I learn a little more? Is there a different browser you'd recommend? Are there specific security issues with Brave?

The ad-blocking and Tor support sounded like interesting features. I know Opera can block ads and javascript, but I'm not aware of other browsers that you can just open a Tor tab in.
