don't really need a study for this. bad times for a lot of people in industries that aren't coming back anytime soon.

4th of July, took a drive through local mountains. Police activity blocked the entrance to one of the few picnic areas, but like a lot of cars, we parked anyway to use the rest rooms. A camaro with a snazzy paint job was being hauled out on a flatbed. I asked the guy moving the pylons if there was a photo shoot. Shot me an odd look, shook his head, said the driver had offed himself in the clearing and that's why the area was closed. State park worker guy said they had been averaging 1 suicide along that stretch of road per week since April. Apparently some people choose to end it surrounded by incredible views.

sorry if i put a damper on the evening - it sure put a damper on our 4th, but made us grateful for what we have. And I combed the news sites for the week following, but these things don't get press.

No worries about the damper we all know it happens.

I wish the people checking out would take a few undesirables with them.
