No, I understand, this is just a way for the industry players to hand your data over with your consent on an instant basis. Otherwise it would just be quietly given to them in FCC required "performance metrics" that happened to have all that data anyway, data that is being used to violate the constitution.

The Apples and Googles are absolved of any Liability, and no one is going to be able to fight the biggest City Hall. You can't complain about what you gave away willingly.

Yeah, I agree with this totally. It's hard to convince people to just give up these devices and I show them I get by better without it ... yet most "just can't" do it.

No prob. It's just that they already get that data. You're absolutely right, this is just a way to legitimize the feds getting that data.
