In 2012, Auernheimer told Gawker that he had Jewish ancestry,[48] though in the same article, Auernheimer claimed to have converted to Mormonism.

I don't read the stormer so can't comment on that.
In another source it says he is an atheist.

After searching online it seems he is nothing but a professional shit stirrer that loves the limelight...
Interesting. So he trolls a little by saying fake facts about himself.
But his mom probably wouldn't have been trolling when she said he has Jewish relatives on both sides of his family. On the other hand, what does that mean? Were they close relatives? Is he a direct descendant of Jews? Was he raised Jewish? For all we know, his Jewish relatives claimed by his mom may not even be blood relatives, though I don't want to minimize it since the phenomenon of Jewish infiltration is so common.
It all depends what community does his 'jewish' relatives come from. That could determine if he is actually a jew...
The answer depends on what Jewish community you choose for yourselves, and later, on how and where your children’s Jewish journeys take them. In some Jewish communities, children born of non-Jewish mothers would be accepted as Jewish if they were raised as Jews. In other Jewish communities, these children would need to undergo a formal conversion ritual (sometimes called an “affirmation ritual”) in order for their Jewishness to be recognized.

While Jews view their lineage matrilineally, I would still consider someone who has a Jewish father and a shiksa mother to be Jewish.
Edit: and I think to be culturally Jewish is a bigger deal than to be genetically jewish
