A very articulate diatribe against human progress and success. This fool believes people will have greater happiness and personal control if only we reverse the direction of human accomplishment and advancing civilization. He would not believe this nonsense if he would have spent time in any African country. His eyes would be quickly opened when he lives in a low-technological culture.

Seems that his university indoctrination turned him from a normal teenager into a murderous beast. His fantasy is to restore a dark ago, forcing it on mankind. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Oh, I quite agree. But the point is that Ted opposed technological advancement. There are only two paths for mankind: advance or decline. Had he lived in a culture without technology, he'd have clawed his way out of it. All of his bad ideas were picked up at university, taught by tenured, comfortably secured professors. Imagine if he had gone to a community college and become an auto mechanic in his youth. What a happier man he would have been.
