I'll bet with a bit of tweaking, it could get satellite TV signals as well. These might be good units for a bunch of people to setup a world wide array to do things like look for alien communications.

I have an airspy and a discone antenna on a pole outside. I think the antenna is meant for VHF, but it picks up HF like crazy too.
