Finally got it. It was a pretty cool project. I've put together quite a few towers back in the day but this is my first laptop.

This panel on the inside is where the touchpad and keyboard gets installed. It's all held on with some pretty good magnets.

Everything is removable and replaceable. (Why does the e come out to properly spell removable but not replaceable?)

The battery lasts 3 times longer than my old battery.

If anything ever needs replaced or upgraded you can just unplug it and put in a new one. It takes me about a minute or so to be inside it and working on whatever I want to work on.

The keyboard and keypad magnetically attach to the center plate and the pins line up and it all just works. You can rearrange it if you want to put the keypad on the other side or replace it with led panels or even an lcd screen.

The Linux install is a whole different story. That is not going as well!!!

Give us a Linux install update. Looks cool. I was admiring a similar kit. Glad you got it assembled without drama.

I got the Linux Mint running but it was having some stability issues. Screen flickering and sometimes it would just freeze up. After digging around on the internet and trying to apply some work arounds I finally just switched to Ubuntu. It is pretty similar to mint but seems to have better features and it is running very stable.

If you ever decide to "Upgrade", look into the 3d printed housings for the old mobo/etc. You can keep the basic laptop, upgrade the cpu/mobo/etc and the "old" parts can become a media center PC or a "desktop" with a few 3d printed parts. Pretty damn cool.

It's one of the reasons I would probably buy one of them if/when I need a new laptop.

The build quality and attention to detail are impressive.

That does not look assembled to me. It’s it some new neural link keyboard?

This post more shows the unboxing and the individual pieces and parts. I put it all together and I'm using it now.

Nice and just poking at everyone. Been a good weekend. Family and food. Fuck niggers. White power.

Nice! What are the specs? I've heard of people just using the CPU/boards for AI clusters.

I got the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 to hopefully future proof it a bit. I only got 32 megabytes of memory because the price of that shit's out of control right now. The battery is impressively large and lasts forever.
