No worries. It was a fun experiment. He didn't try it on a quartz watch which have a loud tick but his mouse is so heavy I doubt it would work on that either. He said he'd rather spend the 8 bucks on a jiggler than scratch a watch ;)

BTW I think the point of this trick was having the second hand cross the vision field of an optical mouse. Is this what you were testing.

Oooooh. That's different. We certainly didn't try that! I thought it was to literally jolt the mouse a bit. That I could see working at least to keep the mouse awake...enough movement would be iffy. I will have to play with it again.
