This uses a desiccant and evaporative process. It seems legitimate and still needs commercial design to make it suitable to take out of the lab and into production. I can imagine a hybrid approach renewable technologies can make this viable. I think consumer models will be a while.

Still needs a heat load to operate. You can't win with air conditioning. The best system i came across was one where the condenser was dug 80m in the ground to reject and absorb heat. The guy was some retired eye surgeon who was a greeni. In winter he had no issues with de ice.
