My town was also under not a full siege, but let's call it a 'lockdown' by Yugoslav military, but we were well positioned in mountains and had artillery for defenses so they had no chance to get near. Their infantry tried a few insurgencies at night, but were quickly cleaned up.
I believe the lockdown went on for a few months, but it was a rural town so, gardens, animals, orchards, vineyards, wells... We barely felt it food-wise.
