Previous homeowner did some funny renovations. In one section the drywall was glued and screwed to the old plaster. This section was nailed in. They put up insulation which was a nice touch, but it's an interior wall.

I have seen that before, they prob thought insulation for sound. You have to use 2x6 plates and stagger 2x4's for real sound though.

Not sure why the did it. Seems like they took out a couple closets and widened one room, shortened the other. Ain't a lick of insulation in the other walls. Probably was a good draft coming from that way as the front door had an inch gap at the base.
