I will test it out today or tomorrow. I'm not sure if I want to wait a full day for the silicone to dry. It will have been about 12 hours by the time the sun comes up today.

There are anti-reflective coatings which increase light transmission through the glass by 10% or so, too.

This is actually an excellent idea. I will definitely look into this.
