The Board of Governors for the University of North Carolina System voted Thursday to repeal and replace its existing diversity and inclusion policy that applies to the 17 schools the board oversees.

The new policy reverses one that was adopted in 2019 that sought to “foster an inclusive environment” and required each school to submit diversity and inclusion reports to the board of trustees every year.

The new policy now requires UNC schools to “ensure equality of all persons & viewpoints,” and promote “nondiscrimination in employment practices.” . .

It needs to go further. They need to end the majority of the useless programs like "Woman's study's". At least half of the classes you are required to take in college are completely pointless and have nothing to do with getting a job.

Why the fuck do I have to take a "humanities" class to get a degree in Electrical Engineering? Oh. So you can hire someone to teach humanities.. to get more people with those degrees.. that their only purpose is to teach those classes. It makes college take twice as long as it should and cost 10x as much for departments that should not exist.

My exact sentiment after my 1st semester of college 45+ years ago.

Me: "Why do I need to learn this shit, I'll never use it" Dad: "To prove you can learn."

Its so you can get a piece of paper that claims you have a minimum level of competency and enough ambition to stick to the program long enough to get the degree. If you need to "prove if you can learn" with college then you probably have bigger problems.

I am in a field that is very technical. I also self educate and took some classes to get a degree that I didn't need because I already knew enough to teach the classes (and later actually did teach for a while). Most of school was just one big waste of time.

How benevolent of them to not openly discriminate against White people for another 5 years...

... but they will still find a way.
