Lennon and McCartney were lightning in a bottle. For that brief period of time they produced absolute magic and changed modern music. On their own John showed himself to be a wanna-be altruist and Paul a musical lightweight. It's hard to overstate the significance of their contribution as The Beetles, but as individuals they were/are minor footnotes. Yoko Ono is a talent-less, narcissistic hag that his endorsement of did more to dis-prove the myth of John Lennon than any of his later simpering, simple minded music did on its own. And his later music was very simple minded so that's saying a lot about those two.
