Even speculative assets. I.e. gold, silver, etc in your hand, isn't worth anything but what others will pay.

Yes. But others will pay a premium for something that has a finite supply, is in demand, and can be used for trade. The hard cap of 21 million is a big selling point to me compared to everything else
