In rural areas you run into one of these for every 10000 square miles. In NY, it‘s one every 100 square blocks.
Much, much less for both. Lots of junkies out there. NYC has one for probably every 5 square blocks if you average out everything.
In Detroit, you run into one of these types every 10 feet.
Not really... much of Detroit's old neighborhoods are practically deserted; population density rather low these days of about 4,788 individuals per square mile, total land area of 142 sq/mi. Look at satellite photos of Detroit... lots of green, empty, lots.
The actual value: In Detroit, you'll run into one of these types of people about every 157.706 feet; yes ALL Detroiters. All of 'em. Even the babies will shank you over $5.
When we searched for property out here in the boonies, we saw a couple of places obvious meth lab trailers. Run down single wide with multiple barrels in the yard covered with blue tarp.
