Banned from leaving the area is just that simple tho. He can't. Outright banning him from performing raises 1st amendment issues.

That's where a high priced lawyer needs to negotiate with the prosecution. Otherwise, the judges ruling stands and does not violate any rights if he followed the law when announcing the sentence. Probation does not give a convict freedom.
