There are a number of things honest property owners can do to prevent squatters and get their properties back outside of the court system. If you are a landlord or are thinking of selling your unoccupied home, hire a lawyer to advise you about offense and defense measures.
When I have an apartment for rent I NEVER EVER include photos of the outside of the building, nor do I include the exact address of the property. I have also stopped placing advertising signs at the street. I also do daily checks of the property to make sure it's empty. If you catch a squatter early, you can (typically) legally kick them out and the squatter will have to sue you to get back into it (which they don't).
Yeah, it should still be a CRIMINAL not civil offense. I like the law of the land being "you are illegally on my property, leave or enjoy some freedom pills".
True, it's theft of a property and should be considered criminal.
The state provides a lot of aid to homeless people. If they choose not to make use of the welfare system, there is no excuse to steal my hard earned assets.
Yep, unfortunately because of daily life/ football, the knitting circle and the Kardashians some of these normies haven't even been to their own properties for weeks/ months on end before realizing the place is occupied by shit head squatters and has been for weeks.
You're bound to loose the things you take for granted.
It's crazy that a property owner could be so irresponsible.
