LOL. I got in trouble twice by the parking maid for putting coins in parking meters when I saw her near by. Yep, I was a good Samaritan by helping people who didn't realize their meters had expired. She ran up to me and me and said that was illegal! I laughed and walked away. Months later, I was near the same place, saw her again and inserted coins in several meters before she saw me again. This time, I held my arms out ready to be cuffed. She told me she wasn't actually able to arrest me, but could call for backup. I laughed and walked away. Years later, I read in the local paper other people had been doing the same thing and the city didn't know how to prevent such deviant behavior.
My only question is then, is it legal for me to put money in a meter for a car I don't actually own? If I borrow a car, is it legal to put money in the meter?
