I just watched this. He got one good punch in, that was it. Then the deputies tackled him. If he had been carrying a knife, he could have slipped it into the murderer's neck and killed him. But I suppose everyone is scanned before entering the courtroom. He should have carried a ceramic knife. Just saying. He made a good lunge at the murderer but he had no effective weapon.

Still metal and they have metal detectors at courthouses. One of those polymer knives would do the trick.

It's just a pen... Like car keys, belt buckles... You need a minimum mass of metal to trigger the metal detector, lawyers have pens too...

That's an actual weapon, one designed to bypass security checks, premeditation is an aggravating factor you don't need that
