I'm not sure they're stolen. No one in the article is complaining of stolen bikes in the neighborhood. If 500 bikes were stolen people would be talking about it. Looks like a hoarder who buys used bikes, often in bulk, on the cheap and just hoards them.

It's super retarded though, they are just rusting in the open (it's the UK no Arizona). I could see it if he was fixing or recycling (cycle lol) them, stripping them down as a business and had a big pile waiting to be processed but he seems to just be collecting iron oxide like a schizo.
