Civil service offerings in the NYC area are extensive enough that anyone with at least junior college diploma could find vastly less stressful comparable paying jobs than taking on the risks inherent with being a cop. The other thing that's developed is the guys girlfriend worked communications for the NYPD, which hints at even more organizational infiltration. Man, when the NYPD created their own intel/counter intel units after 9/11 they really got the deep state's attention.
