Are you offended that I pointed out the idiocy of clapping and cheering because one person said something you like?
This isn't news: it's like watching seals clap their flippers while making those hilarious sounds.
Give us a consensus. A backlash from the medical community at the national level. Not a list of people signing a letter (full of non medical professional and retirees). Actual medical consensus. Then you can start clapping and cheering.
Alright everyone has to agree with it or it's not true I guess. It's not like medical professionals are all reading from the same curated sources which would lead to a consensus in itself.

Logical fallacy: strawman.
A consensus is not unanimous.
It's not like medical professionals are all reading from the same curated sources which would lead to a consensus in itself.
Logical fallacy: sweeping generalizations.
You can find a shitload of research on this topic. Some supporting this perspective, some supporting that perspective. The science that truly holds up to a gold standard that would inform a consensus is a metanalysis of random control trials that pass a minimum level of rigor to be included (STAR method, if you want). We do not have the science, yet, that can make this. We do have a bunch of studies that show almost no negative impact - but it is still there and statistically significant - but to my knowledge, none of those are RCTs.
Your entire argument is an argument from authority.
